The Best Women for the Job

Good morning, Sis..
Guess what?
I think my daughter is pregnant...
And I'm very concerned about it.
She asked me to take her to have a STD screening,
Which is responsible, yes?
BUT!
Her request to have a screening is proof that she's been doing things that are totally irresponsible, right?
Then I had a dream about little baby shoes???
Which is why I'm VERY concerned.
But hear me, Sis
My daughter is a beautifully talented, and amazing young woman!
Trust me, when I say, She got this - she DOES.
So my concern is not REALLY about her having another baby.
What I'm concerned about is her soul....
Yes, Sis! HER SOUL!
The bible talks extensively about this WAR between the spirit and the flesh.
So, I get it.
The struggle is REAL!
And the truth is, we ALL have desires of the flesh.
Even you, Boo.
So, my daughter's situation is merely a casualty of her losing the spiritual war.
Because in real life, the DESIRES in themselves are not really our issue.
Because tell the truth, Sis!
Saved or not,
Baptized and washed!
Sanctified and Holy!
At the end of the day, We ALL still have EYES, okay?
And if IT looked good when WE wasn't saved
You know it STILL LOOKS GOOD NOW, okay?!
Come on, somebody! Lol
So, having the desire is one thing,
But it's how WE respond to the desire,
that becomes the bigger issue.
And my daughter isn't alone in her challenges with self control
TRUST!
I remember the days of being led by DESIRES, too.
And maybe you all lived perfect lives,
but I out THERE!
So, If I wanted it, I TOOK IT.
If I had it, I'd SMOKE IT or DRINK IT.
And if I wanted him, I'd GIVE.... MYSELF..... AWAY.
Period.
And I wasn't always responsible, either.
I've missed using a condom on more than one occasion,
and YES, I have also had an STD before.
So, I'm the only ONE?
The point I'm making is this....
Your desires become out of control the more you GIVE INTO THEM.
Think of it like a plant.
In order for a plant to grow it requires a process.
Plant the seed.....Water the seed.....Grow the seed, right?
Desire grows from a similar process.
When we give into our desires, a seed is PLANTED.
The more we engage in things that please our desires, we WATER the seed.
And the more the seed is watered, the more the seed will GROW.
Eventually, this excessive watering allows our desires to CONSUME us,
or worse become part of our daily lives. (Which is Sin)
So since we've all know we've been guilty
Of lingering in lustful places.
What do you think this does to the SOUL?
Exactly.
In Proverbs, it says:
"They that sow unto the flesh, shall reap destruction. But they that sow unto the spirit, shall reap life and peace."
Do we believe God desires for us to suffer from Destruction?
Or for us to have Life and Peace?
MY daughter is no exception... Jesus Loves her, too!
So let's ALL challenge ourselves to exercise more
SELF control in this new season.
For all Our SOUL sake.
Because truth is,
We all STILL wrestle with lustful desires...
Even, ME!
Girl, I'm still young...And beautiful, I might add. (smile)
And sometimes, I find myself reckless-eye-balling with the best of them!
But we all know that God created women as a suitable helper for MAN, right?
But what if we help MAN more by not always giving in to the desires
But rather by standing firm in the face of them?
Just because he's fine, don't mean you have to DO him
Just because he's got money, don't mean you have to TRICK him
Just because he's lost, don't mean you can SAVE him
And just because he's in the church, doesn't mean you're supposed to MARRY him.
You follow me, Sis?
Because it's time for some Real Talk,
And I believe that my daughter has blessed us ALL with something amazing.
TRUTH!
This is a WAR, Ladies.
A SPIRITUAL war!
One where the enemy is using our physical desires against us
in a way that is producing DESTRUCTIVE outcomes in our lives.
From Overeating
Over-spending
Over-indulging
Over-obsessing
Over-texting
Over-accomplishing
Over-exaggerating
Over-social media
Over-emotional meltdowns
The enemy is ON his Job!
And if we continue to FEED these desires,
They will continue to GROW
And we are setting ourselves up to fail.
Because WE are not strong enough in ourselves.
However!
If we surrender our desires unto God
He will GIVE us the STRENGTH and comfort us
So we have the POWER to overcome yielding to every desire
Through His Holy Spirit.
My daughter has made some bad choices, clearly.
But she aint the only one.
And as a young woman in her 20's who is still learning about life through her mistakes
I believe she is the REALITY CHECK that we all needed today.
For some, she is a reminder of what we used to do
For others, she is a reminder of what we are still doing
For ALL, she is a reminder of the GRACE of God that is available for ALL of us!
James 4:6 says:
'But he gives more grace, Wherefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble'
I'm sure it was humbling for my daughter to call me to ask me for help with this.
But she did it!
I'm sure the thought of having a STD was emotionally taxing as well as heartbreaking for her.
But she is standing tall!
I'm sure it will be challenging mentally and financially for her if she is pregnant again.
But she knows I got her back and we will make it through this together!
God is SO amazing!
Because He doesn't choose the perfect people
Or the most likely to succeed.
Or even those with the affluence of this World.
But instead He chooses sinners
Like You and Me
And young women like my daughter.
Who may not realize it yet,
But is someone who has been chosen of God
Who is Destined for greatness.
And equipped with His amazing Grace
To transform her World and all those around her
Because He loves her.
He has called her
And He already ordained her to be
The Best Woman for the Job!

The Struggle is Real!!
